WAGNER’S RING

DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN

In 1876, Richard Wagner inspired and astounded the world with the most ambitious musical drama ever created.

In 2006-2007 Canadian artist/sculptor Janet Katherine MacKay has recreated the same awe and wonder through the sculptural medium of bronze. Inspired by Arthur Rackham’s illustrations of Wagner’s “ Ring Cycle”, Janet has created this remarkable limited edition series of bronze sculptures.

These stunning works of art were first shown during the inaugural opening of the new Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts during the Canadian Opera Companies premier performance of “The Ring Cycle” in Toronto, Canada in the fall of 2006.

Art is a pure expression of self, the canvas of ones own soul. It is a true portrait of how one views ones self in relation to the world around it. Art is the "WORLDVIEW" the "ALL THAT IS" of the individual.
