Mitchell’s forte and passion is sculpture and all the processes required to take an idea from conception through to installation. He excels every aspect of the process. Mitchell developed his skills over the last 13 years through training with master craftsman, artists, mold makers and foundries. This has allowed him to develop an expertise, which he continues to expand, and now shares with other artists through teaching out of Worldview Studio.

Mitchell is able to draw upon a wide range of artistic, industrial and graphic design, project management, fine cabinetry, foundry work, metal work and stone mason expertise found in the Ottawa to Toronto area.

Previous experience:

Prior to his art career, Mitchell successfully managed the finances, human resources, strategic planning and day–to-day operations in his capacity as owner/operator of his own marketing company in the wholesale, retail specialty grocery industry.

He also draws on past experiences as a new home construction and renovations contractor, and as a mural painter and installation technician for a major Toronto advertising agency.

The skills he developed in these professions are a valuable support to his art career.

Mitchell has fine tuned his Studio Art Services over the past 13 years in his current profession as owner operator of Worldview Studio.

ASCENSION

SAUGUS INTERP MODEL

Worldview Studio was contracted to create a bronze 3D sculptural replica (to scale) of the Saugus Ironworks National Historic Site for National Park Services, Department of Interior, U.S.A.  The project was to address universal access issues and accurately represent the original site of 1646.  Topography and scale where accurately replicated from archeological surveys and visits to restored site.

Worldview studios developed the design concept to reflect the importance of geographical location and terrain topography in locating the Ironwork on this site.  To further emphasize the role topography played the sculpture was designed to accommodate water flowing from the top of the model (reservoir) through the canals and gates, chase ways, over the water wheels and on to the Saugus River and Atlantic Ocean.  Budget was $40k US dollars.  Project was completed on time and on budget.

Mitchell was part of the design team, developed the artistic interpretation and sculpted, supervised and assisted with fabrication (casting, welding, chasing), finished and patinated, and installed the art piece.

Art is a pure expression of self, the canvas of ones own soul. It is a true portrait of how one views ones self in relation to the world around it. Art is the "WORLDVIEW" the "ALL THAT IS" of the individual.
